Q1. Who are the eligible applicants for cover under the insurance plans?
A1. Expatriates whose usual country of residence is Vietnam and Vietnamese residing in Vietnam who are under the age of 65 and over the age of 15 days are eligible to join.
Q2. Can I enroll my dependents?
A2. Yes, your adult partner and children under the age of 19 (or 23 if in full time education) can be enrolled as your dependents.
Q3. Can my pre-existing conditions be covered?
A3. Upon review of your application and any relevant medical documents, Insurer may offer cover for some pre-existing conditions with loading of premium and/or amended benefits, terms and conditions.
Q4. Can I terminate my policy at any time and get a refund?
A4. Yes, provided that no claim has been paid, you may terminate your policy at any time by notifying us in writing and you will be entitled to a refund of premium according to the Short Period Rates.
Q5. Is it possible to change my level of cover during the policy year?
A5. No, such can only be done at the renewal date by duly completing an Upgrade Form.
Q6. In which countries can I receive treatment?
A6. You can go to anywhere within your area of cover for the necessary medical treatment. Insurer will reimburse all eligible costs incurred according to the terms and benefits of your policy. However Insurer will not pay for travel expenses incurred except for evacuation cases.
Q7. Can oncology and chronic conditions be covered?
A7. Insurer consider oncology and chronic conditions as illnesses as per the definition in your policy wording. Provided that these conditions are not pre-existing (or they are pre-existing, but were disclosed and accepted in writing by your Insurer), they will be covered on a full refund basis.
Q8: Can I choose my own doctor and hospital?
A8: Insurer allows you to choose which doctor you see and which hospital you go to. If you are new to Vietnam and do not know where to go then you may call the assistance Hot Line and if you are insured with outpatient benefit, simply go to Insurer's network for medical treatment.
Q9: What conditions are not covered by your insurance plan?
A9: It is always important to read the plan details carefully before proceeding, as required we can provide you a complete set of plan details and policy wording. Please be advised of the following major exclusions: pre-existing medical conditions, self inflicted injury, congenital disease, drug addiction and abuse, infertility, normal pregnancy (unless option taken), cosmetic surgery, preventive treatment, mobility aids, sexually transmitted diseases, untried or experimental treatment, injuries arising from professional sports and some dangerous activities.
